Like Jeff Graham said, it was a great civics lesson for my kids!

Qualifying to run for State Superintendent of Schools is tied for being my favorite part of campaigning so far.

My other favorite part is catching up with old friends! I talked to several old friends and colleagues today. Thank you for your generosity with your stories and ideas and your donations, of course. I can't wait to talk to more folks!

I am not doing this for myself, but for students and teachers in Georgia. And because it's not for me, I can be stronger and braver. Speaking to you has made me understand that quitting my job for all of you, your kids, teachers, and Georgia's future was the right thing to do.
