LEAP trained with Safety Valve Project!

On September 26, 2025, Legal Education Advocacy Project (LEAP) trained attorneys and legal advocates in manifestation determination reviews (MDRs) and on how to appeal MDR decisions for students with disabilities in Georgia.

The Safety Valve Project is a LEAP partner focused on fighting school exclusion in the Savannah area. Safety Valve volunteers participated and had great insights and questions about the MDR process and how it can help to fight exclusionary discipline for kids with disabilities. The training was not recorded, but the materials I used to guide my presentation and discussion are attached.
